Usually about 30,000 people gather at Graceland each Aug. 16 to commemorate Elvis's passing, but according to some insiders at Graceland and EPE (Elvis Presley Enterprises) expectations are that the number of visitors will double this year, the 30th Anniversary of his death. Bodes well for our little film, huh?
Apparently, EPE has also just launched a new advertising campaign encouraging the public to get in touch with their inner Elvis (ads - which we have yet to see - supposedly feature "regular" people in white jumpsuits and gold Elvis sunglasses). Their campaign is an interesting companion to the project we're undertaking, as we will be collecting hundreds of stories from all sorts of fans (and non-fans) on our road trip about the lasting power of Elvis...
